Vancouver physician mortgage questions
Do I pay the foreign buyer tax in Vancouver?
Only as a foreign national. The 20% additional property transfer tax applies in Metro Vancouver unless you are a confirmed BC Provincial Nominee buying a principal residence.
Can a UBC resident buy in Metro Vancouver?
Many do. Physician programs can qualify you on projected income, such as Scotiabank’s $185,000 sample for residents in years 1 and 2, instead of the R1 salary of $69,311.
